Your passport year
What the yearly subscription includes, how it renews and how to cancel it, what happens when it ends, and your 14-day right of withdrawal.

On your own, your passport is €9.90 a year. There is no monthly price.
What it includes
- Your identity check.
- Verification of your work and education by the people who were there.
- Free reading for every employer you approve: they spend no verification to open your passport.
- Download as CV (PDF), a printable CV made from your passport.
You still approve every employer yourself. Paying publishes nothing and opens nothing on its own.
Starting it
Your passport year starts with the identity check. On the identity step, or on Account under Subscription, tick the box, then choose Get your passport. You pay on the payment provider's page; certo never sees your card number. The price you pay, with any VAT, is shown at checkout before you pay.
Your right of withdrawal
If you live in the EU, you normally have 14 days from paying to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason.
Your year starts at once. The box you tick before paying says: "Start my passport now. I understand that I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal once my identity check has been carried out."
- Before your identity check is carried out, you can still withdraw within the 14 days. Write to support@certo.bio. We refund what you paid within 14 days, to the card you paid with.
- Once it has been carried out, the right of withdrawal ends.

Renewal and cancelling
The year renews each year at the price then shown, unless you cancel. Go to Account, then Subscription, then Manage subscription.
- Cancel any time. The year you paid for runs to its end and does not renew. Until then, you can undo the cancellation under Manage subscription.
- A renewal that does not go through is retried. Update your card under Manage subscription before your year ends. If you subscribe again instead, you could be charged twice.
When your year ends
Your passport stays live and verified. Nothing on your page changes, and nothing confirmed is taken away.
What stops until you renew:
- New verification. You cannot send new requests.
- Free reading. An employer you approve spends a verification to read your passport. An approval you gave while free reading ran is paused, shown as Free reading paused. It renews with your passport., and opens again by itself when you renew.
- Download as CV (PDF). Copies you already downloaded are yours.
Lapsing never exposes anything. Your public page is the same whether you pay or not.
