What a certo passport is
One page with the facts about your career that someone actually checked, and who checked each one.
2 minute read
A certo passport is a record of your working life that you hold and publish at your own address, certo.bio/your-name. It replaces the CV you send around: instead of asking an employer to trust what you wrote, it shows what was checked and by whom.
What is on it
- Your identity, checked once against an identity document by an identity provider.
- Your work and education, each job and course as its own line.
- Your certifications, uploaded by you or issued by the organisation that awarded them.
Every line carries one of two marks:
| Mark | What it means |
|---|---|
| Verified | Someone who was there confirmed it: HR at the employer, the university, the training provider. The line says who and what exactly they confirmed. |
| Claimed | You added it and nobody has confirmed it yet. It is still on your passport, clearly marked. |
A confirmation can be partial. If an employer confirms your dates but not your job title, the dates show as confirmed and the title stays Claimed, on the same line.
Who can read it
You decide. Strangers see your public page: every line you added, without the details of who confirmed what. An employer you approve sees the full record, line by line, with who confirmed each fact. Your contact details are a separate permission, off unless you give it.
Every time an approved employer reads your passport, it is logged, and you can see the log under Share & Access.
What it costs
On your own, the passport is €9.90 a year: the identity check, verification of your work and education, and free reading for every employer you approve. If an employer or a university invites you and pays for it, it is free for you.
Paying never publishes anything and never opens anything on its own. You still approve every employer yourself.
Where to start
- Create your passport at certo.bio/sign-up with your e-mail address. We send you a six-digit code, no password.
- Add your work and education, or import your CV.
- Run the identity check, then ask the people who were there to confirm your records.
