Import your CV or your LinkedIn profile
Start Work & education from a file you already have. certo reads it once, suggests the lines, and you choose what to keep. Nothing is added until you say so.
- The file is not kept
- Every line starts as Claimed
- You choose what to add
Save your LinkedIn profile as a PDF
LinkedIn can turn your profile into a PDF in a few seconds. That PDF is what certo reads as a LinkedIn export.
- Open linkedin.com on a computerSave to PDF is on LinkedIn's website. The mobile app does not have it.
- Go to your profileClick Me at the top of the page, then View profile.
- Click More, then Save to PDFMore is the button under your name and headline. LinkedIn makes a PDF of your profile and downloads it, usually as Profile.pdf.
- Keep the file where you can find itYou do not need LinkedIn's full data archive (Get a copy of your data). The profile PDF is enough.
Import it into certo
The same steps work for a CV and for the LinkedIn PDF. You can import more than one file, one after the other.
Open Work & education- Open Work & educationIn your passport's menu.
- Choose Import CVThen CV for a CV file, or LinkedIn export for the PDF from LinkedIn.
- Pick the fileA PDF, Word, RTF, Pages or ODT file of up to 10 MB. A LinkedIn export is always a PDF.
- Check each linecerto suggests your jobs, education, volunteering and career breaks, and what else the file says: a summary, skills, languages, certifications, projects and awards. Lines that need a decision, such as which company you mean, come first.
- Add the ones you wantNothing is saved until you add them. You can change any line later, like one you typed.
What happens to what you import
- The file is not keptcerto reads it once to suggest lines and keeps neither the file nor its text.
- Every line is ClaimedAn imported line is your own word, like one you typed. It changes only when the employer or school confirms it, after you ask them.
- Your LinkedIn addressIf the file names your LinkedIn profile, certo offers to add it to your contact details. Sign in with LinkedIn there to verify it.
- Languages and levelsA level shows only where the file gives one from A1 to C2, and a mother tongue only where the file says so.
