Your contact details

The e-mail addresses, numbers and links a company gets once you approve it, how certo checks each one is yours, and why none of it is ever public.

1 minute read

Contact details is where you keep how a company can reach you: e-mail addresses, phone numbers and links such as LinkedIn or GitHub. None of it is on your public page.

Your account's e-mail and mobile

The address you sign in with, and a mobile you confirmed, appear here by themselves once your identity is checked. They read Verified with the date, and "From your account". You can remove them from your contact details; that never changes how you sign in.

Adding more

Add as many addresses, numbers and links as you like. They are your own words, so certo checks only that each one is yours:

  • An e-mail address, with a code we e-mail to it.
  • A mobile number, with a code we text to it.
  • A link, by signing in to it. Signing in records that the link is yours, and when; the sign-in itself is not stored.

Until it is checked, a line reads Not verified.

Who sees them

Nobody, until you choose. A company you approve gets your contact details only when you tick contact details for it, a separate choice that is off by default. Paying for your passport never changes this. The pill on each section says Only if you share it.
