Completing your company profile
Five fields candidates read before they decide: your name, logo, country, website and a short description. Inviting and asking to read wait for them.
3 minute read
A candidate deciding whether to open their passport to you wants to know who you are. Your company profile is what they see: on every invitation, on every ask to read, and on the page that tells them about the company. So certo asks for it before you act toward a candidate.
The five fields
Open Company profile in the menu. The checklist beside the form shows what is done and marks each missing field Needed to invite.
| Field | What it needs |
|---|---|
| Name | The short name people know you by (Display name). The legal name stays as registered. |
| Logo | The Square logo: a square icon, like your website's favicon. PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, under 1 MB. |
| Country | Where the company is based. |
| Website | The company's own site, such as northwind.example. Not a jobs board, a social page or free e-mail. |
| Description | At least 40 characters, so one real sentence about what the company does. At most 600. |
If certo already took a logo from your website, it counts. Upload your own to replace it; certo never replaces one you uploaded. You can also add a Logo of any shape, shown where there is room.
One website belongs to one company. If another company in the directory already has yours, the form says so: write to certo at support@certo.bio.
Your description is shown as your own words. certo checks who a company is, not what it says about itself.
What a complete profile unlocks
Until all five are there, these wait:
- Inviting candidates from the Candidates page.
- Asking to read a passport.
- Connecting your ATS.
- Issuing confirmed records, if your company issues.
You see an amber card at the top of Candidates, for example Complete your company profile · 3 of 5 done, and the action is disabled with its reason, such as "Add your logo and description first." Press Complete your profile, fill in what is missing and save. You are taken back to where you were.
What never waits: reading the passports already open to you, buying verifications, and an ATS you connected before.
Who can edit it
Owners and admins edit the profile. A recruiter or an issuer sees it read-only and is told to ask one of them. See Inviting colleagues and their roles.
Once complete, it stays complete
When all five fields are filled in, certo will not let an edit empty one. You can change your description or replace your logo at any time, but not remove it. That way an invitation, including one your ATS sends automatically, never goes out under a blank profile.
What certo keeps for you
Below the public profile, a section headed Kept by certo lists what certo looks after itself: the legal name, the registry number, your e-mail domains and whether you have an issuer agreement. These decide which addresses can confirm records for the company and what certo signs in its name, so a member never changes them directly.
The registry number is the one you can start yourself. An owner or admin picks the register, enters the number and presses Send to certo. certo checks it against the register before it is kept, and the profile shows it as waiting until then. It is not needed for hiring: you need it only to issue.
