Graduate sponsorships
One sponsorship per graduate, bought in the console. What it pays for, when it is spent, and what happens when the balance is short.
3 minute read
Your university pays for each graduate it issues a degree to with one sponsorship, €1.90 each. You buy them in the console, as many as you need, and each graduate on a batch spends one.
What a sponsorship pays for
One sponsorship covers one graduate:
- the signed degree. Your university's confirmation of the degree, signed by certo as a certificate under your university's name.
- the graduate's own verification for 12 months. Their identity check and the checks of the rest of their history, free for them.
- free reading for those months. Every employer the graduate approves reads their passport without spending a verification of its own.
The graduate's year starts when they claim their passport.
Your university does not get access to the graduate's passport. It pays for the graduate, not for a reading. The graduate decides who reads it, as with any passport.
Buying sponsorships
- Open Issuing. The Graduate sponsorships panel shows the balance.
- Under Graduates, enter how many sponsorships you want. The price per graduate is shown beside the field.
- Select Buy sponsorships and pay at checkout.
When you come back, the console says Payment received. They are on the account. If you leave checkout, it says Checkout cancelled. Nothing was charged.
The price per graduate is the same at any quantity, and there is no annual minimum. The current price is on the universities page.
Pilots and larger projects, such as one faculty or one cohort, are agreed with certo directly, and certo puts their sponsorships on the account. Write to support@certo.bio.
When a sponsorship is spent
A sponsorship is spent when a graduate's row is issued, not when the graduate claims it. A graduate is paid for once. The batch checks the whole list against the balance first:
- each new graduate on the list is one sponsorship
- a row that already went out in an earlier send spends nothing
- a corrected row for a graduate you issued before spends nothing, even when the balance is zero (Correcting a row)
- a row sent again because its link ran out spends nothing
- a second degree for a graduate you paid for before spends nothing
- a row that could not be issued spends nothing
certo knows a graduate by the e-mail address on the row, or by the name and date of birth when the address changed.
After the send, the result line says how many sponsorships were spent.
A sponsorship does not come back if the graduate never claims their passport. If an address was wrong, correct the row and send it again: the new link goes to the corrected address and costs nothing.
When the balance is short
If the account holds fewer sponsorships than the batch needs, nothing is issued and the console says how many are missing:
This batch needs 120 sponsorships; the account holds 80. Buy the difference below, or split the batch.
Buy the difference in the Graduate sponsorships panel, which sits on the same page, then send again. Or send part of the list now and the rest once you have bought more.
